Extension of the Hauser-Feshbach fission fragment decay model to multichance fission

چکیده

The Hauser-Feshbach fission fragment decay model, $\mathtt{HF^3D}$, which calculates the statistical of fragments, has been expanded to include multi-chance fission, up neutron incident energies 20 MeV. deterministic takes as input pre-scission quantities - probabilities and average energy causing post-scission yields in mass, charge, total kinetic energy, spin, parity. From these initial conditions, full is followed through both prompt delayed particle emissions, allowing for calculation $\gamma$ properties, such multiplicity distributions, independent cumulative yields, observables. In this work, we describe implementation into $\mathtt{HF^3D}$ show an example beyond first-chance using neutron-induced on $^{235}$U. This expansion represents significant progress consistently modeling emission particles from fissile systems.

FISSION FRAGMENT ANGULAR ANISOTROPIES AND INERTIA PARAMETERS

An analysis of selected fission fragment angular distributions from helium-ion induced fission is made using an exact theoretical expression. Theoretical anisotropies obtained with the transition state model are compared with their corresponding values deduced from the statistical scission model. The nuclear moment of inertia extracted from the model calculations are compared with their est...

Monte Carlo Hauser-Feshbach Modeling of Prompt Fission Neutrons and Gamma Rays

The decay of fission fragments is studied through Monte Carlo Hauser-Feshbach model calculations taking into account the competition between the emissions of prompt fission neutrons and gamma rays. The importance of initial excitation energy and spin distribution in the primary light and heavy fragments is demonstrated through comparison with experimental data. Excitation energy sorting mechani...

The VERDI fission fragment spectrometer

The VERDI time-of-flight spectrometer is dedicated to measurements of fission product yields and of prompt neutron emission data. Pre-neutron fission-fragment masses will be determined by the double time-of-flight (TOF) technique. For this purpose an excellent time resolution is required. The time of flight of the fragments will be measured by electrostatic mirrors located near the target and t...

Extended Hauser-Feshbach Method for Statistical Binary-Decay of Light-Mass Systems

An Extended Hauser-Feshbach Method (EHFM) is developed for light heavy-ion fusion reactions in order to provide a detailed analysis of all the possible decay channels by including explicitly the fusion-fission phase-space in the description of the cascade chain. The mass-asymmetric fission component is considered as a complex-fragment binary-decay which can be treated in the same way as the lig...
